History

In January of 1999, Richland Bible Church handed out unmarked envelopes to those in attendance. Inside was a single bill. Various denominations were given out, with the charge to invest for the Lord based on the passage from Matthew 25.

November 28, 1999 was the day of reckoning when all would be counted. Approximately $8,000 was distributed and over $200,000 was returned to the church.

Peg Throop received $10.00 in January and returned $800.00 in November. She made caramel corn, drizzled it with chocolate and sold it to friends. After much prayer by both Peg and her husband Marc, Taste of Heaven was started. The name came from the fact that nothing is sold without a scripture verse on it.

In 2002, Taste of Heaven joined with the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission in an effort to raise funds for their mission work.

In October of 2005, TOH became soley owned by Kalamazoo Youth for Christ and continues to work with the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission offering job skills training opportunities.
